My name is Jessica Bender. I 'm originally from Hilton Head and now live in Bluffton with my husband and family. After almost 10 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling so that I could learn how to help others who are struggling or suffering with emotional, mental, family or relationship issues.

My personal counseling approach is person-centered from a wellness perspective built on a foundation of empathy, compassion, understanding and non-judgement. I have also been trained in Christian counseling for those that would prefer that approach. I have a special place in my heart for adolescents who are in turmoil and hope to provide them with a safe place to take a deep breath and find their way. Being a teenager is hard enough and the ever-increasing demands and pressures from school and society can take their toll.

Along with adolescents and their families, my other area of specialty is help and healing for women who are having emotional difficulties after having an abortion. For some women, this experience can cause severe anxiety, guilt, anger and bitterness. These emotions and feelings may not even show up until years later, affecting relationships and causing inner turmoil. I am trained to help you process these feelings and move forward in a completely judgment-free environment.
